Exploring North Malta

North Malta marks the very tip of the main island, where the land narrows to rocky headlands overlooking the channel to Gozo and Comino. Paradise Bay is the standout — a compact, sheltered cove of pale sand framed by low cliffs, with wonderfully clear water that's ideal for snorkeling and a gentle swim. Just a short walk east, Armier Bay offers a broader sandy stretch popular with Maltese families for weekend barbecues and relaxed swimming. Both beaches enjoy a sense of remoteness despite being only a short drive from Mellieħa and the Ċirkewwa ferry terminal. The Gozo and Comino ferries depart from nearby, making it easy to combine a morning at the beach with an afternoon island hop. In summer, a handful of kiosks serve drinks and snacks, but the area retains a wonderfully low-key character compared to the busier resort beaches further south.
