The Delimara Peninsula juts out from Malta's southeastern corner, a wild finger of limestone between Marsaxlokk harbour and the open Mediterranean. At its heart lies St Peter's Pool, arguably Malta's most spectacular natural swimming spot. Carved by millennia of waves, this deep, rectangular rock pool is surrounded by flat limestone ledges perfect for sunbathing, while fearless swimmers leap from the cliffs into the impossibly blue water below. Snorkeling along the pool's edges reveals underwater arches and a rich variety of marine life. Unlike Malta's sandy beaches, St Peter's Pool offers a raw, unmanicured experience — there are no facilities, no sun loungers, just nature at its most dramatic. Access is via a short walk from the car park near Marsaxlokk, making it easy to pair with a visit to the famous fishing village and its colourful Sunday fish market.
