Lara Beach is the flagship resort beach of the Turkish Riviera — a wide, golden sand shore stretching for kilometres east of Antalya city, backed by a procession of five-star all-inclusive hotel complexes. The beach is impeccably maintained, consistently awarded Blue Flag status for water quality, and offers some of the warmest and calmest Mediterranean swimming conditions in Turkey. In peak summer, the water temperature reaches 28–29°C, turning the sea into an enormous warm bath.
The resort zone itself is one of Turkey's most spectacular — a concentration of palatial mega-hotels with their own private beach sections, water parks, and entertainment facilities. But public access sections between the hotel zones are also well-maintained and free to use. The beach shelves very gently into the sea, making it particularly suitable for young children, and the lack of strong currents or waves means the swimming is reliably safe throughout the summer season.
Beyond the beach itself, Lara's location makes it an excellent base for exploring Antalya's extraordinary surroundings. The UNESCO-listed Old Town (Kaleiçi) is 15 kilometres west, the spectacular Düden Waterfalls that plunge directly into the Mediterranean are just north, and the ancient Lycian and Pamphylian ruins of Perge, Aspendos, and Side are all within comfortable day-trip distance.
Antalya Airport (AYT) is approx. 15 km from Lara. Take a taxi or airport shuttle to the resort zone. City buses from Antalya centre reach the public beach areas. Many guests arrive on transfer coaches directly to their hotels.
May and October offer pleasant swimming with fewer crowds. June–September is peak season with water temperatures above 26°C. July and August are hottest and busiest. The beach season typically runs May through October.
Non-hotel guests can use public access sections. Sunbeds on hotel-managed areas typically require a purchase at the hotel. Sun protection is essential — the Turkish sun is intense. Water shoes help on some stony sections near the beach bars.
