Kata Noi is a small, beautiful beach tucked away south of Kata Beach. With its excellent water clarity, fine white sand, and snorkeling-friendly reef, it's considered one of Phuket's most beautiful beaches. The smaller size keeps crowds manageable, creating a more exclusive feel that appeals to travelers seeking tranquility over tourist bustle.
The secluded luxury feel of Kata Noi is enhanced by the upscale Katathani Resort that backs much of the beach. Despite the resort presence, the beach itself remains public and accessible. The intimate cove, sheltered by rocky headlands on both sides, creates a sense of being in a private paradise. During golden hour, the sun casts warm light across the fine white sand, making it one of the most photographed beaches in all of Phuket.
Snorkeling conditions at Kata Noi are among the best on Phuket's west coast. The reef along the southern end of the beach is home to colorful tropical fish and healthy coral formations. Swim out just a short distance and you'll find yourself surrounded by parrotfish, clownfish, and the occasional sea turtle. Nearby, the famous Kata Viewpoint and Windmill Viewpoint offer breathtaking panoramic vistas of the Andaman coastline that are well worth the short drive up the winding hillside road.
Stairs required at some access points. The main access is through the resort area or via a stairway from the road. Not ideal for visitors with mobility challenges.
Very limited parking available along the narrow road above the beach. Arriving early or by motorbike is recommended during peak season.
