Playa de Muro is one of Mallorca's great family beaches — a long, straight stretch of immaculate fine sand on the sheltered western shore of the Bay of Alcúdia. The water is typically calm and clear, the beach is wide and well-maintained, and the full range of facilities makes it ideal for a comfortable full day at the beach.
Behind the beach, protected dune ecosystems form part of the S'Albufera Natural Park — one of the most important wetland nature reserves in the Balearic Islands. The boundary between developed beach and wild nature reserve is striking: golden sand and sun loungers give way almost immediately to reed beds and dune scrub that shelter rare birds and plants.
Playa de Muro has held the Blue Flag quality award consistently for its water quality, beach management, and environmental standards. The shallow, gently shelving water is excellent for children and nervous swimmers, and the long stretch of sand never feels as overcrowded as some more enclosed Mallorcan coves.
Direct road access with large car parks. Very flat approach from parking to beach. Blue Flag amenities include adapted facilities for mobility-impaired visitors.
Drive from Alcúdia (10 min) or Palma (50 min). Large car parks; paid in summer. Summer bus services from Port d'Alcúdia and Palma.
