Playa de Levante is Benidorm's eastern and most iconic beach — the sweeping 1.8-kilometre arc of fine golden sand that has made Benidorm one of Spain's most popular resort destinations. The beach faces east across the Mediterranean and is sheltered from the prevailing winds, producing calm, shallow water that warms quickly in summer and is particularly safe for children.
Despite Benidorm's reputation as a mass-market resort, Playa de Levante has consistently won the Blue Flag award for decades and is one of the best-maintained beaches in Spain. The promenade is spotless, lifeguard services are excellent throughout summer, and the water quality monitoring is among the most rigorous on the Costa Blanca. Sun-lounger and parasol hire is widely available and at competitive prices.
The beach fronts Benidorm's famous hotel skyline — a dense forest of high-rise towers that has come to define the town's character. For a more scenic, quieter alternative on the other side of the peninsula, Playa de Poniente (West Beach) offers a similar quality beach with a more local atmosphere.
Fully wheelchair accessible with ramps onto the beach, adapted changing rooms, and a track mat laid across the sand in the summer months. The promenade is flat and wide, easy to navigate with pushchairs and wheelchairs.
Benidorm is served by the TRAM Alicante–Denia line, which stops at Benidorm station about 15 minutes walk from the beach. Multiple hotels front directly onto the promenade. Paid car parks are available throughout the town.
