About Cala Pola

Cala Pola is a small, enchanting bay sitting on the Costa Brava coastline just north of Tossa de Mar, tucked between two pine-covered headlands that serve as a natural shield against wind and waves. The result is a sheltered, calm cove where the sea often lies like glass, displaying all its magnificent shades of blue-green with perfect clarity.

The cove's intimacy is part of its charm — it holds only a modest stretch of sand and pebbles, with a handful of boats usually anchored in the bay. A small beach chiringuito serves cold drinks and snacks in summer, but the overall atmosphere remains relaxed and uncrowded compared to the larger resort beaches nearby. Families with small children particularly appreciate the calm, shallow water entry.

Cala Pola is also part of the famous GR-92 Coastal Path of Catalonia, which means it can be reached on foot from Tossa de Mar in about 40 minutes through spectacular coastal scenery — an option that rewards hikers with breathtaking viewpoints along the way. The combination of hiking, swimming, and the sheer natural beauty of the setting makes Cala Pola a highlight of any Costa Brava visit.
