Cala Mondragó is part of the Mondragó Natural Park — one of Mallorca's most important protected areas and a haven for wildlife on the increasingly built-up southeast coast. The beach itself is superb: a double cove of fine white sand with water that shifts between jade and turquoise depending on the light.
The natural park status means the surrounding land is completely undeveloped, reinforcing the sense of unspoiled natural beauty. Pine and dune vegetation backs the beach; the rocks to either side are covered in posidonia seagrass meadows that make snorkeling particularly rewarding. The beach bar (chiringuito) provides cold drinks and light snacks.
Cala Mondragó actually consists of two adjacent beaches: S'Amarador to the north and Mondragó itself to the south, separated by a rocky headland. Together they offer varied swimming conditions and the chance to explore the park's network of nature trails through dunes and pine forest.
A 5-minute walk from the car park on a flat path. The beach has gentle slopes. Some facilities are adapted for mobility-impaired visitors.
Drive from Santanyí (15 min) or Cala d'Or (20 min). Paid car park in summer. Follow signs to Mondragó Natural Park.
