Cala Mitjana (meaning "middle cove") is one of Menorca's hidden south coast treasures — a beautiful horseshoe bay flanked by high limestone cliffs covered with wild herbs and pine. The green-blue water changes in shade depending on the sun angle, and visitors often find it difficult to leave.
This is a fully natural beach within the Menorca Biosphere Reserve. No buildings, no bars, nothing man-made interrupts the setting. The sense of complete wildness is part of its charm. Bring everything you'll need for the day — especially water, as the nearest facilities are back at the car park.
The adjacent Cala Mitjaneta is accessible via a short scramble along the rocky path to the east. Both coves are perfect for snorkeling, with the underwater world around the limestone rocks far exceeding what you'd find at busier beaches.
No facilities on beach. A small bar may operate near the car park in high season. Bring food, water (very important), sun protection.
15–20 minute walk from the car park via a rocky forest trail. Not accessible by wheelchair. Steep descent to the beach in places.
Drive south from Ferreries towards Son Mercer de Baix. Park at the free car park and walk the signed path to the beach. Approximately 30 minutes from Ferreries.
