Cala Macarelleta is the smaller, wilder sibling of Cala Macarella — a tiny cove tucked just 10 minutes' walk along the coastal path. While Macarella has a beach bar, Macarelleta has nothing man-made at all, making it beloved by those seeking total peace in a natural setting.
The beach is small but exquisite: fine white sand gives way to water that shades from pale jade to deep emerald, perfectly clear over a sandy bottom. Limestone cliffs draped in scrub vegetation enclose it on three sides. Snorkeling is superb — the rocks hold rich marine life and the visibility is extraordinary.
Cala Macarelleta has a long tradition of naturism and a free-spirited atmosphere. It's popular with sailors who anchor in the cove, and with hikers who walk the Camí de Cavalls — Menorca's ancient coastal path that passes through both coves.
No facilities — fully natural beach. Bring water, food, and sun protection. Toilets and a bar are available at the adjacent Cala Macarella (10 min walk).
Reached via a rocky coastal path from Cala Macarella. The path involves some rock scrambling and is not wheelchair accessible.
Park at the Son Saura car park, walk to Cala Macarella (20 min), then continue on the path to Macarelleta (+ 10 min). Total walk approx. 30 minutes from the car park.
