Cala Llombards is one of those delightfully authentic small beaches that Mallorca's southeast still keeps quietly to itself. Located near the village of the same name in the Santanyí municipality, it's a narrow, sheltered cove with fine white sand, calm turquoise water, and a relaxed atmosphere favoured by residents and repeat visitors over the package-holiday crowd.
The cove is enclosed by low sandstone cliffs and cave formations carved by centuries of wave action. A small beach bar offers cold drinks and simple food under a rustic awning. Kayak hire lets you explore the cave openings and the rugged coastline to either side, where several more secluded inlets reward the curious.
The nearby village of Llombards is entirely residential and makes a pleasant short walk before or after the beach. For a day combining water, nature, and authentic Mallorcan village life — without the crowds — Cala Llombards is one of the island's great unsung alternatives. Nearby Cala Mondragó and Es Trenc are within easy driving distance.
Short walk from the car park down a path. The beach surface is fine sand. Not ideally suited to wheelchairs due to the descent.
Drive from Santanyí (10 min) or Cala d'Or (20 min) following signs to Llombards and the cala. Small car park at the top of the cala.
