About Cala d'Hort

Cala d'Hort is one of Ibiza's most unique and atmospheric beaches, offering a direct frontal view of Es Vedrà — a 382-metre rocky island that rises dramatically from the sea just 2 kilometres offshore. Es Vedrà is shrouded in mystery and local legend, said to be highly magnetic and associated with supernatural occurrences. Watching it emerge from morning mist or glow orange in the sunset light is an extraordinary experience.

The beach is a mix of pebbles and coarser sand, enclosed by low cliffs and backed by a small fishing hamlet. The water is outstandingly clear — the kind of turquoise that makes you want to snorkel immediately. Fish are plentiful around the rocks either side of the beach, and the underwater scenery is excellent.

A small cluster of excellent restaurants serving fresh seafood line the back of the beach. The sunset here is particularly special as the sun drops directly behind Es Vedrà, silhouetting the island against a blazing sky. Photographers and lovers arrive from across the island for this daily spectacle.
