About Praia do Guincho

Praia do Guincho is one of Europe's premier wind and surf beaches, set in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park between the mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. The beach is famous for its consistent wind conditions β€” making it a world-class spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing β€” and powerful Atlantic swells that attract surfers from around the globe. Major international windsurfing competitions have been held here.

The wide, sandy beach backed by low dunes and the dramatic Sintra mountains creates an atmosphere that feels remote despite being just 30 minutes from Lisbon. Several excellent restaurants along the coast road serve some of the region's best seafood. The sunsets over the Atlantic are legendary.
