About Praia da Marinha

Praia da Marinha is widely considered the most beautiful beach in Portugal and one of the finest in Europe. This stunning cove is framed by dramatic ochre-coloured limestone cliffs sculpted by wind and waves into natural arches, sea stacks, and hidden grottoes. The beach is reached by a steep stairway cut into the cliff, which only adds to the sense of discovering a hidden paradise.

The water is impossibly clear — turquoise and emerald dependent on the light — and the snorkeling around the rock formations is exceptional, with octopus, moray eels, and colourful wrasse. The Michelin Guide and European Best Destinations have both recognised Marinha as one of the world's most beautiful beaches.
