Oualidia Β· Morocco
Oualidia is an inherently quiet destination β a small lagoon village where flamingos wade through oyster beds and the pace of life is dictated by the tides.
Unlike Morocco's more famous beach towns, Oualidia has resisted large-scale tourism development. The lagoon remains a protected wildlife zone where greater flamingos, egrets, and wading birds gather at dawn and dusk. Arrive early in the morning to have the water almost entirely to yourself, with only the sound of the tide filling the lagoon and birdsong drifting from the marshes.
