Ninety Mile Beach

The Tasman Sea rolls unobstructed into this vast west-facing beach, producing consistent beach break surf along virtually its entire 88 km length. Swells typically arrive from the northwest and southwest, with offshore conditions in easterly winds. The sheer emptiness — very few surfers share this enormous stretch — is as much the draw as the waves themselves. Note: strong rips and no lifeguard patrols require caution.
