Mirissa sits on Sri Lanka's south coast, 150 km from Colombo. The area is built around a gorgeous crescent bay sheltered by the Parrot Rock headland, and is internationally famous for blue and sperm whale watching between November and April. The main beach offers excellent snorkelling, beautiful sunsets, and a thriving scene of seafood restaurants and beachside yoga. Hidden over the headland, Secret Beach provides a quieter coral reef experience away from the crowds.
