Xpu-Há Beach is one of the Riviera Maya's best-kept secrets. This quiet, unspoiled stretch of white sand offers the Caribbean experience without the crowds. The calm, crystal-clear waters are perfect for snorkeling, and the lack of large resorts preserves its natural charm.
What makes Xpu-Há so special is what it lacks — mega-resorts, crowds, and commercialization. The beach has remained relatively untouched by mass tourism, offering visitors a glimpse of what the Riviera Maya coast looked like before the development boom. Swaying coconut palms, soft white sand, and water so clear you can see fish swimming from the shore create a natural paradise that feels worlds away from nearby resort towns.
The area around Xpu-Há is also home to several spectacular cenotes, the natural limestone sinkholes filled with crystal-clear freshwater that are unique to the Yucatán Peninsula. After a morning at the beach, exploring these mystical underground pools surrounded by jungle makes for a perfect day of natural wonders along the Riviera Maya.
Basic access via sandy paths from the highway turnoff. The terrain is natural and unimproved, which may be challenging for those with mobility issues.
Small paid parking areas near the beach entrances. Multiple access points exist along the highway, each with limited parking. Arrive early on weekends to secure a spot.
