Reethi Beach sits within the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, one of the most biologically rich marine areas on Earth. The beach itself is a sweeping crescent of powder-white coral sand, fringed by coconut palms and surrounded by an enormous turquoise lagoon. The island's name β "Reethi" meaning "beautiful" in Dhivehi β is no exaggeration: this is one of the Maldives' most naturally stunning settings, where the boundary between beach and ocean dissolves into a seamless palette of blues and whites.
The resort island has carved out a reputation as one of the best snorkeling and diving bases in the Maldives, thanks to its location within the biosphere reserve. The house reef is teeming with life β hawksbill turtles, octopuses, reef sharks, and a kaleidoscope of tropical fish patrol the coral gardens just steps from the sand. During the southwest monsoon season, the nearby Hanifaru Bay becomes a gathering point for hundreds of manta rays and whale sharks, creating one of the most spectacular marine events anywhere on the planet.
Despite its world-class natural assets, Reethi Beach maintains a laid-back, unpretentious atmosphere. The resort blends eco-conscious philosophy with comfortable accommodation, offering guests a genuine connection with the natural environment. Evening strolls along the beach reveal bioluminescent plankton sparkling in the shallows, while the Maldivian night sky blazes with stars β a reminder of just how far from civilisation this exquisite atoll lies.
Reethi Beach is a resort island with sandy paths and some boardwalks. The terrain is flat and natural. Beach access is straightforward from all room types. Some areas may be challenging for wheelchair users due to the sandy surface.
Fly from Velana International Airport (MLE) to Dharavandhoo Airport (DRV) on a 30-minute domestic flight, then take a short 15-minute speedboat transfer to the resort. Alternatively, a scenic 35-minute seaplane from MalΓ© is available.
