About Meeru Island Beach

Meeru Island Resort & Spa is one of the largest and most popular resorts in the Maldives, occupying an entire island at the northern tip of North Malé Atoll. The island's beaches are expansive — long curves of white sand fringed by palms — and the shallow turquoise lagoon is ideal for swimming, making it particularly attractive to families with children. The sandbank at the island's northern tip rivals those of any boutique resort and offers a stunning setting for beach walks and photography.

What sets Meeru apart from many Maldivian resorts is its scale and range of facilities. The island features a freshwater swimming pool, tennis and badminton courts, a football pitch, a kids' club, and an extensive water sports centre offering jet skiing, parasailing, banana boat rides, and catamaran sailing. The all-inclusive package means families can enjoy everything without worrying about costs adding up. Multiple restaurants serve a wide range of cuisines, from Maldivian fish curry to Italian and Japanese.

Despite its size, Meeru retains the natural beauty that defines the Maldives. The house reef is easily accessible and teems with marine life — reef sharks, eagle rays, and colourful tropical fish are regular sights. The dive centre runs trips to premier North Malé Atoll sites. The more secluded western beaches offer quieter stretches for those seeking solitude. At night, the island comes alive with entertainment, live music, and the option of dining on the beach under the stars.
