About Cocoa Island Beaches

Cocoa Island is one of the Maldives' most exclusive private island retreats, set in the crystal-clear waters of South Malé Atoll. The island's beaches are fringed with powder-white sand that gradually slopes into a shallow turquoise lagoon, creating a picture-perfect tropical setting. The resort, operated by COMO Hotels, features overwater suites designed to resemble traditional Maldivian dhoni boats, offering guests direct access to the warm Indian Ocean waters below.

What truly sets Cocoa Island apart is its exceptional house reef, widely regarded as one of the best in the Maldives. Snorkelers can step directly off the beach into a vibrant underwater world teeming with reef sharks, sea turtles, eagle rays, and hundreds of species of tropical fish. The reef drops off dramatically just metres from shore, providing an easily accessible window into the deep blue beyond. The island's PADI dive centre offers courses and guided dives to explore the surrounding atoll's many dive sites.

The intimacy of Cocoa Island — with just 33 suites — ensures the beaches never feel crowded. Guests can find their own private stretch of sand, enjoy sunrise yoga sessions on the shore, or take a sunset cruise across the lagoon. The COMO Shambhala spa provides holistic wellness treatments, while the resort's restaurants serve fresh seafood and healthy cuisine. This is the Maldives at its most refined and serene.
