About Spiaggia del Principe

Spiaggia del Principe (Prince's Beach) was the favourite beach of the Aga Khan, who founded the exclusive Costa Smeralda resort area. Named after him, this beach is a perfect crescent of soft pink-tinged white sand framed by granite boulders and Mediterranean scrub. The water transitions from transparent aquamarine to deep sapphire blue.

Despite its Costa Smeralda address, the beach remains natural and uncommercialised — there are no beach clubs or restaurants on the sand. A short walk from the car park through fragrant Mediterranean maquis leads to this stunning natural amphitheatre.
