Jimbaran Beach is one of Bali's most beloved destinations, celebrated primarily for its extraordinary evening ritual: dozens of seafood warungs (local restaurants) set candlelit tables directly on the sand, serving grilled lobster, prawns, fish, and squid as the sun melts into the Indian Ocean. The combination of fresh seafood, gentle sounds of the surf, and the glow of hundreds of candles creates one of Bali's most romantic and memorable dining experiences.
By day, Jimbaran is a traditional Balinese fishing village β colourful jukung outrigger boats are dragged up onto the sand each morning after the night's catch, and the local fish market operates from dawn. The crescent bay has calm, protected waters ideal for swimming and offers spectacular views across the bay towards the GWK statue. The beach is considerably less touristy during the day than it becomes at sunset.
The proximity to Ngurah Rai Airport (just 5 minutes) makes Jimbaran an excellent first and last night base, and the quality of accommodation β from the Four Seasons to charming family guesthouses β is outstanding for the price.
The beach is flat and generally accessible. Evening restaurant tables are set on sand so wheelchair access can be challenging. The hotel areas are well paved.
5 minutes from Ngurah Rai Airport by taxi. 20 minutes from Kuta. Grab and Gojek apps work well here. The seafood row is clearly visible from the beach road.
