Snorkeling Beaches in Hikkaduwa

Hikkaduwa National Park's coral reef extends right up to the shore, making it one of Sri Lanka's — and indeed Asia's — most accessible snorkelling experiences. You can wade in from the beach at chest depth and within minutes be swimming over hard and soft corals alongside sea turtles, parrotfish, surgeonfish, and dozens of other species. Gear can be rented cheaply at any of the beachfront shops, and dedicated snorkel boat trips are also available for reaching the deeper sections of the reef.
