Navagio (Shipwreck) Beach is arguably the most photographed beach in all of Greece, and one of the most iconic in the world. A rusting smuggler's ship — the MV Panagiotis, wrecked in 1980 — lies beached on brilliant white limestone pebbles, enclosed by towering 200-metre vertical cliffs on three sides. The only access is by boat, adding to the adventure.
The water is an almost unreal shade of electric blue, caused by the white limestone reflecting sunlight. The famous clifftop viewpoint above provides one of the most jaw-dropping panoramas in the Mediterranean. Visit by boat in the morning before tour groups arrive for the most magical experience.
Boat access only. Not accessible for mobility-impaired visitors due to boat boarding and rocky landing.
By boat from Porto Vromi (30 min), Agios Nikolaos, or Zakynthos Town. Book morning tours for the best experience.
