Essaouira's Atlantic coast naturally favours solitude. Outside the city itself, the beaches here are genuinely vast and sparsely visited — wide open sands stretching for kilometres with no beach facilities and few other visitors, particularly away from peak summer season. If you are looking for dramatic coastal scenery, raw Atlantic atmosphere, and the particular freedom of a truly empty beach, the Essaouira coast delivers it more reliably than almost anywhere else in Morocco.
Cap Sim Beach
Wild Atlantic beach at Cap Sim headland south of Essaouira. Empty sands, powerful waves, and dramatic coastal scenery with virtually no tourist infrastructure — completely raw and wild.
Moulay Bouzerktoun Beach
A wide, flat Atlantic beach 20km north of Essaouira frequented by windsurfers and kitesurfers but outside wind sport season this grand sandy beach is peaceful and largely empty.
