About Jurerê Beach

Jurerê Beach is divided into two distinct personalities on the same stretch of sand. Jurerê Internacional, at the western end, is one of Brazil's most exclusive beach club destinations — a strip rivalling Ibiza and Mykonos in glamour, with superclubs like Café de La Musique and Pacha attracting Brazilian celebrities, international DJs, and fashionable crowds. The beach clubs here are architecturally spectacular, with infinity pools, rooftop bars, and gourmet dining that represent the pinnacle of Brazilian beach culture.

Jurerê Tradicional, at the eastern end, could not be more different — a quiet, upscale residential neighbourhood with tree-lined streets, a charming beachfront promenade, excellent seafood restaurants, and a calm, unhurried atmosphere popular with families and older visitors. The beach itself is calm, clear, and beautiful regardless of which end you choose. The Forte São José da Ponta Grossa, a beautifully restored 18th-century colonial fortress, stands just west of Jurerê and is worth a half-day visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How expensive are the Jurerê Internacional beach clubs?
The clubs are premium-priced by Brazilian standards — entrance plus consumables can reach R$500-1000 per person at peak season. Some clubs offer day passes; others are reservation-only. Free public beach sections exist between the clubs where visitors can enjoy the setting without paying.
Is Jurerê suitable for children?
Jurerê Tradicional is excellent for families — calm clear water, a pleasant promenade with ice cream and restaurants, and a quiet, safe atmosphere. Jurerê Internacional's party atmosphere is more adult-oriented but families are welcome at most clubs before 6pm.
What is the best time to visit Jurerê Internacional?
December to February (Brazilian summer) is peak season when all clubs are operating. The New Year period brings the largest events. Shoulder months (November, March) offer a more relaxed version of the experience. The clubs close or operate at reduced capacity outside summer.
