Livadhi Beach is one of the Albanian Riviera's best-kept secrets — a long, gently curving pebble beach stretching south from the charming town of Himara. The beach offers a wonderfully tranquil alternative to the more touristed spots along the coast, with calm Ionian waters lapping against smooth stones beneath a dramatic backdrop of the Ceraunian Mountains.
The atmosphere at Livadhi is delightfully low-key. A few casual beach bars serve cold drinks and simple food, while the rest of the shoreline is left natural and unhurried. The water is clear and warm in summer, ideal for long swims and floating in the afternoon sun. At the northern end, the beach connects to Himara's seafront promenade, making it easy to stroll into town for dinner.
Livadhi's location makes it an excellent base for exploring the surrounding Riviera. The historic old town of Himara perches on the hillside above, with a ruined castle offering spectacular sunset views. Nearby beaches like Potami and Spille are within walking distance, and the dramatic canyon beach of Gjipe is just a short drive away.
The promenade connecting to Himara town is flat and paved. Beach access is straightforward from the road. The pebble surface is manageable but water shoes are recommended.
Livadhi Beach is within walking distance of Himara town centre. From Tirana, drive approximately 3.5 hours south via Vlorë. Buses from Tirana, Vlorë, and Sarandë stop in Himara.
